A visit to an interesting fen

I spent several hours in this gorgeous Ross County fen last Saturday, which was full of interesting late season flora. One of our most gorgeous wildflowers was in its peak of glory, which is the primary reason that I trekked back to this wetland. A pictorial journey will follow soon...

That looks like one of my favorites- Aster puniceus, or is it Symphyotrichon now?

It is indeed the purple swamp aster, Symphyotrichum puniceum, Brian. More photos to follow.
