This year I went back to the same spot where I seen them last year and they have got much larger.I ran in to 3 at one spot they were 5 feet+ long huge snakes. When I first ran up on the first I thought I ran into a rattle snake scared me to death but when I seen where the the rattle came from it was from this racer snake its head raised about 2 feet off the ground and it head flattened alittle. But yes these snake do rattles there tails and there very scary snakes. I know where there are several in this one area. I don't think I have ever seen so many in one spot like that either. So there you go that's my true story. Thanks for reading. Oh!! I tried to catch a 5 foot Blue Racer once by running after it across a mowed area. When it saw it couldn't reach the woods before me, it reared up, opened it's mouth and came towards me, roughly at groin level. It wasn't protecting eggs, only itself. Needless to say I got its message and backed off. I enjoyed watching it head towards the woods, always with an eye on me.
I also hatched ten babies from some eggs found in a mulch pile. The hatchlings are full of attitude the second they come out of the egg and are very fast. Precocial birds seem helpless compared town them.
BrianAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
