I have watched them here all spring and summer this year, 2021. They sit on lake logs in the sun drying their wings. I have photographed them many time on my daily walks around the lake. The lake abounds with fish, turtles, and abundant lake life. At first I thought they were cormorants, which we had seen in Florida’s Ding Darling. But recently I have realized the birds I saw this summer were anhingas.MartaOChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01672572006925326834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6072479063452233450.post-59780002402531932002014-10-25T19:01:38.697-04:002014-10-25T19:01:38.697-04:00There are quite a few of them now on Lake Logan, L...There are quite a few of them now on Lake Logan, Logan, Ohio. I've been trying to I.D. them. They may be some type of cormorant, but they really seem to me to be an anihinga! They're necks are vey thin & they fly fast with lots of flapping!LaVonnenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6072479063452233450.post-41741934169657084572011-03-02T14:55:04.480-05:002011-03-02T14:55:04.480-05:00Seeing a cormorant “fly” past you underwater is pr...Seeing a cormorant “fly” past you underwater is pretty cool, too. At Ding Darling, I watched one anhinga fish for quite a little while. I think that the female is the better looking of the two. What a wonderful bird.
